One smart way to ensure you go green with your fundraising is to ask yourself the following question: do my money-raising activity uses one of the three R’s? You might wonder what exactly are the three R’s; they are the mantra at the very core of any ecological action: Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. This is a great fundraiser that can be set up in a week and completed in a weekend. Many businesses have a problem with unsightly litter, and so do neighborhoods located near shopping districts or by main highways.

Last week, we talked about the top five reasons for green fundraising and while we came up briefly with some ideas, we didn’t really explain any of them. We received a lot of emails asking us “ What is a Clean-Up-A-Thon? How does it work?” or “ Adopt-a-Tree? Can I truly raise money with this?” We felt the enthusiasm and we think it’s time to give some more details about how to organize these kind of activities. This week we’ll talk about the Adopt-a-Tree fundraising.
