Live Art Exhibit: a creative fundraiser for kids

A great way to fund your project is to combine a green product with a green activity. What’s even better is to let your inner creative side express itself in colorful ways. Why not then organize a live art exhibit for everybody to enjoy? Now, forget the usual paint and brushes (they’re expensive and not so green after all), choose instead the green tool of the trade: the smencil.

The environmentally friendly smencils are scented pencils made from a 100% recycled newspapers! Best of all, the eraser is entirely biodegradable! Each of the ten different colors comes with a unique lasting aroma that kids love. Now that you have your green product in hand, let’s get creative with a fun activity that’ll make kids feel like great artists.

Kids love to draw, that is no secret. They also love to show their artwork. Now for that school project they need to fund, a fun afternoon of drawing can feel a little less daunting than selling chocolate bars. Just grab a couple of smencils, gather your group together on a sunny afternoon, invite the parents to come over and let the creative side go wild. You could even ask your school to participate by freeing a friday afternoon and lend the art classroom for everybody to enjoy.

Remember: the goal is to raise money in two different, fun ways. Now, as kids produce artworks and drawings with the smencils that you carefully put on display for selling during the day, you pin the finished artworks to a wall with a price tag.  As everyone walk around and watches the kids draw, they’ll anxiously wait to see the final results and bring back home a little masterpiece… at a price! You could also go auction-style at the end of the day, with parents bidding on their favorite drawings. You’ll be surprised to see how prices sometimes go through the roof. Oh! Just don’t forget to mention they should buy their own set of smencils for a good cause.

So, there you have it: a simple and green idea for fundraising. Grab your ecological pencils and gather everyone for an artistic activity sure to please. It’s an easy and fun way to combine green products and green activities while funding that special project!
