Easter is all about renewal and the earth coming alive in the spring, so why not have a green fundraiser that gets the kids and adults involved? An egg hunt can be double the fun when you raise the stakes!

Plan a community egg hunt around Easter, and get local stores to donate plastic eggs and candy. (You can recycle the plastic eggs.) Let people know that individual children sponsored by parents or family teams will be allowed to sign up for the hunt. You can also ask local businesses to sponsor children of members of your group or organization.

Need to spring clean? Worried about that trip to the dump, and how it affects the environment? This year spring clean and pass it on - reusing uses 100% less energy than recycling does, and one person’s junk is another person’s treasure!

It is easy to set up a fundraiser sale online. You can auction things off, or merely list them for sale at bargain prices. Spread word of the sale through email, and let folks know that they can participate by donating items as well as by purchasing.

Did you know driving safely and sensibly can help the environment? You can put a twist on the old car wash fundraiser that educates and informs people about the benefits of being responsible vehicle owners and drivers!

A car wash is a tried and true method of raising money. You can spice up a regular car wash with a few extras, however, and let people know how they can drive green! All it takes is talking a local rental shop into donating the use of an air compressor, and the auto store into donating a box of tire air pressure gauges.

The next time you need to raise money for a good cause, think about making it a green cause as well!  People love to help out when there is a chance to have a positive effect on the planet. With that in mind, what about raffle where the prize is a bundle of eco friendly products!

You can usually hit up manufacturers of green products for freebies, so stocking one or more huge baskets of green fun shouldn’t be hard. Hit up your local businesses to help sell raffle tickets for you, as well as spreading the word through the community via church or school.
