Senior Facility Day Fundraising Activity
Looking for a fundraiser that is environmentally friendly? Have a senior facility or day care center in your community? Why not brighten the lives of old and young? Bring some green to their lives and some green into your coffers at the same time! This fundraiser is great for small towns with local owned businesses and a strong sense of community, especially if your charity or cause is somehow connected with the center you plan to beautify.
The plan is simple. Plan a border of flowers somewhere on the grounds, or a set of window boxes that will be easy to tend. Credit for good deeds done is the key here, so ask a local plaque or trophy supply to donate some engraved nameplates and a local printer to print up flyers depicting your proposed project. A nursery can donate hardy plants, and you are sure to round up some willing help to install and fill the border or boxes at the location desired.
Now sell the space! Canvas the neighborhood residents and businesses, and sell the nameplates. Let people know they will be credited as sponsors of the project, with their name displayed on the plaque. If you want to, you can set up levels or tiers of sponsorship - so people are encouraged to give even more! Let them know this is a two part fundraiser - you are benefiting a local care center while at the same time raising money for whatever your cause is.
The advantage of this type of fundraiser is that you can promote it by word of mouth, with flyers and online as well. The rewards are twofold - the local center receives a facelift, and money is raised for your cause as well. If you can get all the materials donated, all your group will have to do is complete the labor required - and the dollars raised can go into the organization’s coffers.
This type of fundraiser is terrific since it has a positive impact on the environment and doesn’t produce any wasteful shipping containers or other forms of pollution.
